Danny The Champion
Now that Cyclog is nearly ready for “final release” I will delete the
old version and post screenshots for nostalgic reasons and for those visitors
who are interested in Internet archeology. Most content was transferred to the
new page, only the boring stuff was kicked out.

en_GB5x2 (Cinq Fois Deux)
Cinq Fois Deux by director Francois Ozon
tells the story of a couple in episodes, beginning
with their divorce and ending with the outset of their relationship.
I liked the actors' performance but neither story nor
pictures could grip me and left me somewhat disappointed. Watching the movie
was as exciting as reading a book beginning with the last chapter.
IMHO the idea of reversing or scrambling
the timeline of the story has been realised
much better in other films (e.g.
Memento
or
Eternal Sunshine on the Spotless Mind).

Wixel Font
I used this font in several
projects (
some may be found on this page)
but it took me some time to develop the complete font. Tt is based on a grid of 4 x 4
pixels or squares and consists of minuscles only plus some symbols.
Download the font as zipped TrueType.

A list of cameras I owned and used in chronological order:
-
Yashica Something: my first own compact camera. Well,
you could take photographs with it.
-
Pentax ME Super: a very nice SLR camera. Pity it broke.
-
Canon Powershot S10: my first digital camera cost a fortune back in 2001.
Now almost worthless old digicrap.
-
Sony Cybershot DSC-P150: leight weight and small.

Cyclog is built with the
Apache Cocoon Command Line Interface. Me is a fan of Cocoon — as long as everything runs
smoothly ☺.

en_GBIdea
The initial idea was to design a navigation that is circular instead of a
standard rectangular one. I combined this with
flash scrollbars I had created before.
Furthermore the design was inspired by
Japanes folding fans (衵扇, Hiôgi or Ōgi). First designs were horizontal rather
than vertical. I rejected them in favour of the vertical version which offered more space
for content.
The name Cyclog is an artificial composition of the words weblog and
cycle (a circle in space or time, a word full of meanings: life cycle, bicycle, moon cycle, cycle of the seasons,…).
